На 22 октомври 2013г. в 15.00 часа в зала 300 на ИЯИЯЕ ще се проведе семинар на тема:

"Femtosecond Laser Surface Nano- and Micro- Structuring: Fundamentals and Applications"

Resolution of laser nano- and microstructuring is limited by the wavelength of the light or by heat diffusion. However, recent progress in femtosecond laser technologies enables to break these limitations by minimizing heat transport and owing to the strongly nonlinear and non-equilibrium character of light-matter interaction.

This report will be focused on direct nanostructuring of metals and semiconductors under femtosecond laser irradiation, considering a wide range of processes such as surface ultrafast photo-excitation, melting, ablation and excitation of intense surface plasmons. Some possible applications of nano/microstructures will also be presented.
